If you see us in the club, we’ll be actin’ real nice
If you see us on the floor, you’ll be watchin’ all night
So, Isaac and I have never been to a club before. We like going out on occasions and getting 2 hours sleep every now and then. But, truth be told, we’re homebodies. We love staying in and watching movies and eating junk food or spending time with my sisters or his brothers. We like eating a lot. And movies. Yup.
Isaac isn’t a big fan of large crowds the majority of the time. And he’s the more hesitant one out of the two of us when it comes to trying new things or being very adventurous. Example? I hung the Christmas lights because he’s afraid of heights. No joke. He got to the second step of the ladder and shakingly climbed back down.
To each his own.
This back history has a point, I promise you.
Yesterday was my first day off since school started January 5th. Between school Monday through Friday and work on Sat. and Sun. this was very much needed. The morning was spent watching two of my friends get tattoos and then going to the mall afterwards. We also met AC’s boyfriend, finally. BC and SG’s tattoos came out really nice!
After the mall we went and visited Isaac at Target and then headed back to BC’s house for dinner of homemade pizzas. I went home to get changed and pick Isaac up. By 10:30, we were on the road.
We went to one of the local clubs for 18+. At first, we were dubious, I’m not gonna lie. BC is a country girl and Isaac and I are….well, we’re far from country. He should have been born in the 90s the way he loves rock…or if he’s in a good mood, he likes hip hop music and can rap lyrics better than just about anyone I know.
And I listen to just about everything. Mostly everything except for country.
This club is called City Limits Saloon and has a bull for riding and everything. When we went in, there were a country songs playing, an assortment of cowboy hats and boots, and 2 women riding the bull together…while straddling each other. There was a lot of staring on our part. And pointing. And more staring. And laughing. And even guffawing.
After vows of never returning, we met up with some other girls from my school. One even tried to teach all of us a country dance which was reminiscent of an Irish jig. We failed. We did do the electric slide however. Well AC and I did. Isaac stared- he didn’t know how to do it.
After we had been there about 45 minutes however, they started playnig pop/hip hop/dance music and then it was more enjoyable. My friends went to the center and I joined them happily. Isaac joined begrudgingly. We had originally been dancing on the side and he was fine with that. But after seeing some of the people dancing in the center, some of them quite skankily mind you, he didn’t want to go all the way into the depths of the saloon. When I asked him why, he replied that he could almost feel himself catching a STD from the distance he was already at. As if to prove his point, some girls climbed on a table and proceeded to grind against each other.
We went in anyway and had a blast. He’s a good dancer, I’m not gonna lie. And he enjoyed himself. He even said he wold go back again. We just might!
It’ll just be awhile before we do though. I think we still have some movies to catch up on.
